Pondering the Holy Eucharist Bible Study Guide

"Pondering the Holy Eucharist" begins with the beauty of the sacred, through poetry and art from "Poems Pictures Prayers & Ponderings", and then refers to Scripture and the teachings of the Catholic Church from the Catechism. Each lesson ends with a link to a beautifully appropriate Catholic hymn.

Each of the three elements incorporates questions to guide group discussion, with space for making notes in the guide book. A pondering on the lesson summarizes the teaching and leads into Personal Reflection during the week.

The seven lessons are:

1. The Purpose of Life, inspired by the Poem -- “Food for the Journey”

2. A Great Foreshadowing, inspired by the Poem --  “Holocaust of the Lamb”

3. Who Is This “Lamb of God”?, inspired by the Poem --  “Salvation’s Name”

4. True Food and True Drink, inspired by the Reading -“The Gospel According to John”

5. Pentecost, inspired by the Poem --  “Revealed Truth”

6. The Sacrifice of the Mass, inspired by the Reflection --  “The Sacrifice of the Mass”

7. The Paschal Banquet,  inspired by the Art -- “I will be with you always

 until . . ."

And -- Afterthoughts: Sacrifice of Praise and This is hard.
